1. Log onto the shoreside application at www.maritimemanager.com
2. Run your mouse over VMS and then click Vessel Info./history
3. Click add new vessel
4. Enter Vessel Information. All items highlighted in red must be entered.
5. Fill out any applicable information and click next. If nothing applies then leave the form blank and click next.
6. Select the propulsion type of the vessel. This will later be significant in identifying what types of routines will be associated with what vessel. If none of these propulsion types apply to your vessel just select conventional and click next.
7. If you have already entered maintenance routines into the application (see the maintenance routine section for more information) then a list of all your maintenance routines maintained in the system will be listed in this step. Select all routines that you wish to be populated on this particular boat by placing a check mark to the left of the routine title, making sure to uncheck any items you do not want on the boat.
NOTE: If you are unsure of what routines to add to this boat uncheck all routines and you can later user the maintenance task wizard to add routines to the boat. Also be aware that if you do not check any items then no maintenance routines will be displayed on the boat until you add them
8. If you have added users to the system (see personnel management section) then a list of all employees added will be displayed in this step. Select any individuals that will be using the application by checking the permission levels on the right hand side of the user’s name (see personnel management section).Click next.
9. Your tasks will rebuild. This will take a few moments depending on how many routines you have to load onto the boat.
10. You have now successfully added a new vessel to the VMS. Click finish.
